Digital Ministries was started in 1996 as a non-profit religious corporation organized and registered in the State of California. It has qualified as a publicly supported, tax exempt organization under section 23701d of the Revenue and Taxation Code in the State of California and sections 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi), 509 (a) (1) and 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Digital Ministries, Inc. is operated by Dr. John Schaub and his wife Marilyn. Under the direction of an independent board of directors, they assist and encourage Christian churches and ministries with the use of technology.

Since 1998 Digital Ministries, Inc. has provided free website hosting, website development and technical support to churches and ministries all over the world.

Mission

“Helping church leaders find and follow God’s plan for using technology in the local church”

We believe that God has a definite plan for each person, each ministry, each local church body and His Church as a whole. We see that plan being communicated and carried out on every page of both the Old and New Testaments.

When God was directing Moses to build the tabernacle, it was a major shift in the use of technology for worshiping God. Moses could not have accomplished God’s plan without help. But God had prepared a technology leader, Bezalel, to assist Moses. In addition to that, God had prepared others to work beside Bezalel, and through parting gifts from the Egyptians, God had even provided the materials that would be needed.

In the same way, God has prepared a technology leader, a ministry group, and the needed resources for each local congregation to follow God’s plan for technology. For some, it is a small plan. For others, it is a bold and far-reaching plan. But whatever God has in mind, He has prepared all that will be needed.

Strategy

“Package and provide readily accessible technology systems that will allow church and ministry leaders to see how God is working in their midst”

We have been called to open doors for technology by assisting with the development, acquisition, deployment and use of  pilot programs designed to demonstrate where God is leading.

This strategy is focused on three specific barriers to the use of technology in church and ministry settings:

• Cost
• Time
• Skills

By making technology available free of any charges, we overcome the first barrier. We overcome the other two barriers by making this technology easy to use for any church staff member or volunteer.

The best and most visible technology for this purpose is a free church or ministry website.
